On Saturday, June 23 Action for Healthy Communities’ Community Action Dash and Health Festival runs from 10:00am-2:30pm at 10578-113 Street, NW here in Edmonton.
We’re starting with the 5/10k run/walk. The stroller set comes out for both walking and running (parental units doing the work, of course!), seniors stroll the route and everyone else runs or walks as they choose.
Then, an activity-driven afternoon of performance highlighting: dance, soccer, fashion, martial arts, drumming; we’ll have music, face painting, henna hand art, balloon animals, photos and, food.
Offstage, performers will offer 30 minute workshops: learn to break a board, do Kurdish dance, get the ball past the keeper & into the net...
Part of the focus is holistic health outreach: we’ll have groups promoting healthy activities, lifestyles, food, and nutrition.
To be a paid run/walker (& support Action for Healthy Communities) register at https://www.events.
